This Saturday, as part of my visit to Melbourne, I will be giving a reading from my novel-in-progress. It’s a slightly unusual reading due to its venue:

Writers in Residence: Tom Cho, Kate Goldsworthy, Lily Chan

Saturday 10 December, 3pm

Author Lily Chan is opening up her house in Footscray to present a free literary reading in her backyard!

The line-up consists of:

  • Tom Cho (feature reader): Tom will preview work from his novel-in-progress—a mash-up of fiction, philosophy of religion, and a whole lot more besides!
  • Kate Goldsworthy (special guest): Kate will read from her YA novel-in-progress about two young women who become best friends despite being on opposite sides in a war!
  • Lily Chan (special guest in her own house): Lily will read from her work-in-progress, which is based on a childhood raised in a multi-faith Ashram in WA’s Wheatbelt!
  • Wine and Nibbles (feature nourishment): Will be provided!

If you can definitely make it and would like to attend, please post a comment at the Facebook event with the cutest animal photo or video that you can find. We will pick 15 folks from there. We would like to reserve half of the available audience spots for people of colour so if you are a POC, please identify yourself as such, either in your post or directly to one of the organisers, if you’re comfortable with that.

We will send you the address once audience spots are confirmed.

Further details, including bios and accessibility information, are at the Facebook event.

I have been late in posting the details of this reading here—my apologies—but at the time of writing there are four audience spots remaining. If you wish to attend, please visit that Facebook event ASAP.
