An un-named protagonist undergoes a series of transformations, shape-shifting through figures drawn from film and television, music and books, porn flicks and comics. This protagonist becomes Godzilla, a Muppet, Whitney Houston’s bodyguard, a robot that becomes a car, the Fonz and – in the climax of all climaxes – a 55-metre tall cock rock star who performs for the people of Tokyo.

Look Who’s Morphing was published for Australia and New Zealand by Giramondo Publishing in 2009. An edition for North America and continental Europe was published by Arsenal Pulp Press in 2014.

The book has been shortlisted for major literary awards, including the 2010 Commonwealth Writers’ Prize for Best First Book (South East Asia and Pacific) and 2009 Age Book of the Year (Fiction). Studied at universities in Australia and abroad, it is now in its second Australian printing.
