I’m pleased to announce the release of a much-needed resource: a\u00a0list of\u00a0Transgender Writers and Writers with Intersex Variations in Australia<\/em>. Copies of the\u00a0list are\u00a0now available upon request<\/a>.\"Transgender<\/p>\n

As I mentioned in my callout<\/a>\u00a0from late last year,\u00a0major media reportage about transfolk and people with intersex variations is overwhelmingly written by cisgender<\/a> people. This list aims to\u00a0intervene into that state of affairs in Australia. Importantly, it\u00a0also aims to\u00a0put more trans and intersex voices, including\u00a0those of\u00a0emerging writers, into smaller publications.<\/p>\n

The professional\u00a0backgrounds of the writers\u00a0listed in this document span various\u00a0fields \u2013 media and communications, academia, creative writing, health\u00a0and more. This list\u00a0will\u00a0create opportunities for writers and editors alike,\u00a0and I’m confident that further iterations will be produced\u00a0in the future.<\/p>\n

I’ve already received numerous requests from people who want to receive the list. So it’s over to you now: feel free to spread the word about the list and\u00a0i<\/strong>f you wish to receive a copy, please contact me<\/a>.<\/strong>\u00a0The list is available in PDF form. I welcome contact\u00a0from anyone working in writing\/publishing who wants\u00a0a copy (including writers who can\u00a0pass on the list to their editors and publishers). Whether you’re working in book publishing, at a daily metropolitan newspaper, a student magazine, a news website, a literary journal, a literary festival, or elsewhere, get in touch. I’ll also be emailing the list to those who have already requested it from me.<\/p>\n
