I write. I read my words onstage. I have a background in curating and producing arts projects.

My current project is a novel that answers some of life’s “Big Questions”. This novel-in-progress is an extravagant artistic and intellectual mash-up—a mix of fiction, philosophy of religion, and much more besides. The text explores perplexing questions such as “Does God exist?“, “How can we reconcile the existence of suffering with the premise of a good and almighty God?”, “What are the attributes of God?”, and even “What is the meaning of life?” Its working title: The Meaning of Life and Other Fictions.

My full-length debut was Look Who’s Morphing, a collection of fictions originally published in Australia and later released in North America and continental Europe. Brought to fruition as part of my PhD in Professional Writing from Deakin University, the collection was shortlisted for multiple awards, including the Commonwealth Writers’ Prize for Best First Book.

I also have almost 80 publications of fiction pieces in magazines and anthologies—among them, Electric Literature’s Recommended Reading, The Best Australian Stories series, Asia Literary Review, PRISM international, Review of Australian Fiction, The Best of The Lifted Brow, The New Quarterly, and many others

Originally from Naarm (“Melbourne, Australia”), I’m now based in Tkarón:to (“Toronto, Canada”).

History

My first full-length book, Look Who’s Morphing, was published in Australia and New Zealand by Giramondo Publishing in 2009 and in North America and Europe by Arsenal Pulp Press in 2014. This collection of fictions was shortlisted for three literary awards, including the 2010 Commonwealth Writers’ Prize for Best First Book (South East Asia and Pacific).

I also have many publications of individual fiction pieces in journals and anthologies. My fiction has been published in Australia, Canada, USA, Singapore, Italy, Sweden, Japan, Malaysia and France.
