I’ve been spending the last two months or so doing an artist residency in the town of Taos, New Mexico. I feel very lucky to have been given this opportunity – a fellowship from The Helene Wurlitzer Foundation of New Mexico. During my time here, I’ve been working on my novel.

While working here in Taos, I’ve been thinking about such topics as fictocriticism, fat embodiment, animism, certain linguistic analyses of small talk in social settings, meta-philosophy of religion, prayer, and the existence of God. I’ve also been considering various pop cultural interests, including this one:
